Not what I was expecting

So much for easygoing and uneventfull! I went to the girl doctor today for a routine check up and for them to make sure my IUD was placed right and things were going rather well, we were making idle chit chat until she got to my left side and all things came to a halt...not great with my history... Long story short, exactly 6 months to the day after having my right ovary removed I now have a large ovarian cyst on my left ovary. GREAT! This one isn't as big as the one last fall on the right one which was surgical but it isn't small either. GREAT GREAT! After that I just felt light headed, the room became fuzzy and I had to lie down. I wish I was joking but I'm not. Girl problems and migraines are kinda my thing. And I am tired of my thing. So anyway, I go back in a month, hope it has shrunk down to a manageable size or then I am on to plan B...whatever that is. In the mean time I am trying to give it over to God, pray about it and not turn to chocolate as a means of coping. The latter has been incredibly hard to do.

Maybe some cleaning and beading will help take my mind of it!!

This and That

Not a whole lot to blog about today. The last 2 days have been pretty easygoing and uneventfull (which is fine by me). I have been enjoying the Spring weather and walking at night a little longer..trying to shed that winter weight...and working in my yard. I am still trying to find my flower beds amongst all the weeds. My Iris garden is full of weeds and leaves and my rose garden I can't even look at it is so bad. I am hoping they will forgive me and bloom anyway in a few weeks. The kids have been so cute and are loving being outside more.
Enjoy your night.

Digging in the dirt

The kids and I dug around in the dirt today. Mitch must have asked me a zillion times why we were "digging in the dirt" and Megan happily tromped around with her snow boots on. I was so sick last fall that none of my flower beds got winterized or cut back so I have a ton of work to do and lots of weeds to pull. Lucky for me I am feeling fine now and the garden didn't wait for me...oh no... there is a ton of work to be done out there! Spring is always a fun time. Anticipating what to plant, what will bloom next, what colors will show up. God blesses us each Spring with the promise of new life and today I got to share it with my little ones...even if we were just "digging in the dirt"!

Happy Friday!

A little culture today

Mitch and I went and saw Frog and Toad All Year at the Arvada Center with his Preschool class today. It was great and he did really well sitting through the whole thing. The Arvada Center does great plays and this one was excellent for the little ones. Afterward we had a picnic in the park and some nice Mommy and Mitch time which we rarely get anymore of these days. It was a nice day!

Here is the link to the Arvada center if anyone is interested in seeing Frog and Toad. It's great for the Preschool set and only an hour long.

Retail Therapy

I went and did a little retail therapy at JoAnn's today. It's been a long couple of days and nights taking care of our dog so off I went. And would you believe that beads were on sale?!! : ) Imagine that! I have 2 projects I am working on so I picked up a few things for those and then just stood in the aisle for a while looking and imaging how different things would look all put together. I came out with some nice combinations and worked for a very short hour this afternoon on a necklace for a very dear friend. I'll post pics soon and after I give it to her so I don't ruin the surprise.

Saturday in Pictures

This is my day yesterday in pictures...
We went to the Shrine Circus in the morning. Here is Mitch chomping down on his cotton candy! Yummy!
Mati came home! She has 25 staples in her knee. Look at the poor dogs cankles!!

And this is how my day ended!! Frank took this picture and showed me this morning at breakfast. I didn't sleep on the floor all night but Frank and I are exhausted from tag teaming with the poor dog. And all the laundry! It's like having a third kid! At least she's worth it and she doesn't talk back : )

Now I need a break

Just a little bit ago Mitch locked himself in the bathroom. He did it by accident and was very politely trying to get my attention because he new Megan was down for a nap. So from downstairs I heard, "Mom, Mommy...MAMA! I'M IN HERE!" Notice how it went from nice and gentle to a frantic Mom?! I got him out but I couldn't help but think afterwards how if it were me locked in that bathroom I don't think I would have yelled for help right of way. Yep, it's been one of those weeks. Too bad our only bathtub is full of bath toys or I would be a bath person. Oh well, only a few more hours and I am going to my sister's for Stamp Camp tonight. I'll also have my newest and latest bracelets there if anyone is interested : )

To keep me going today I have been praying and thinking on a favorite verse...

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to give you hope...Jer. 29:11

Order Up!!

I finally got Blogger to cooperate and upload these images...here is my first real blog order I am sending out. Thanks Aunt Sue!

I tried to post more pics but blogger must be tired like me this afternoon so I only got one on. This is one of the pink bracelets I got made for my cousin in TX yesterday. Her order is going out in the mail tomorrow: )

I can't take much more!

I wasn't going to write about this but I have changed my mind because I just need to vent...our big dog Mati, who is a Rottweiler, had surgery yesterday to repair her blown CCL (she blew her knee out over the weekend). The surgery to repair the CCL(which is like an ACL in a human) cost us $2 thousand dollars to repair. If that is not bad enough, and it is, Frank called me about an hour ago and told me the surgery didn't take well in Mati and she has already torn one of the nylon threads!! This is where I am freaking out because they are going BACK IN for surgery tomorrow and hoping it will then take. I am trying to not even think what will happen then because if it doesn't we will be facing the really expensive surgery we were trying to avoid in the first place. I am hoping God loves dogs, especially mine, and praying he will watch over her.

I did it!

I went shopping this morning and spent less than I had budgeted for, got everything on my list plus a few extras and was out of the store for almost an even $70!! I was so excited! I'm not sure if it was gathering coupons, watching what was on sale or just having a plan but something worked. Now is when I will reveal that Frank and budget $75 a week for groceries and that really isn't very much for a family of 4 with a little one still in diapers so every week I just about freak out in line when the number inches toward $100 and if you know me you know I have anxiety anyway so you don't really want to be standing in line behind me but this was a great week! Tonight we are even having white chili! It's snowing in April so I thought that would be perfect!

Off to get some beading done. I stopped at JoAnns today too. I had a special request for some bright pink and emerald bracelets so I have to see what I can come up with. I love a challenge like that! : )

I hooked(no, Frank did) my printer up over the weekend and I have been printing coupons off www.couponmom.com and I have my list all ready for tomorrows grocery shopping trip and I am determined that the checker is not going to tell me I am a few cents over this week. I promise! Not like the checker cares though: ) LOL I'll let you know how I do tomorrow.

Late night trip to Urgent Care

Mitch got his first set of stitches last night. With a head wound he actually got staples. He was a brave little trooper and "thought it was really cool" what a boy! While I was on a walk he fell and hit his head on our fireplace. Frank got to deal with the blood, crying and waiting for me to get back. Here are after pics of his war wounds.

Stretchy Pants

I am thinking about stretchy pants today. I bought my daughter 2 pairs last night and she looks so darn cute in them and they look so comfy that I wonder why no designer has designed some for the 30-something mom set. Elastic waist, cute colors, cute prints...no more low rise, tight waist yada yada...you get my point. But I just don't think they would look as cute on me and my rear as they do on Megan and her cute little diapered tush. Oh, well. Capri season will be here before you know it!! lol
Happy Friday!

Groceries on a budget

I have to vent today...I went grocery shopping this morning and I feel like every week I stand in line and beg the little check out machine thing not to go over my spending limit. Begging it to stay below, to allow me to feed my family for one more week and to do it with mine and their good health in mind. And every week I seem to be a few dollars and pennies over. @@ It makes me so mad! So I am going to try this website that I heard of and I will let you know if it really works and if any of you have tried it please let me know. It's called the Grocery Game and you can check out the website at www.thegrocerygame.com Good luck and may we all win!!

A great reminder

At MOPS today one of our Mentor Moms played a song by the Christian artist Danny Oertli called If every you worshipped, it's now (at least I think that's the name of the song). It's a mom song and he wrote it for his wife and mom and it was such a great reminder that in this season when things are hard and the little ones wear you down it's all for Him and now is the time to worship all you have. What an awesome reminder! Especially after the day I had yesterday when I felt so worn down and actually was and went to bed right after the kids!! It was also a great reminder to break out my Danny Oertli CDs. I used to listen to him all the time in college at UNC. My fav is Songs from the Left side of the Couch. If you are interested he has a website http://www.dannyoertli.com/ and you can find all his music online at http://www.amazon.com/. I might just have to figure out which CD that mom song is on and get a copy. I can always use a great reminder that my children are a blessing from the Lord, not a burden.

An Entire Set

I spent some time this afternoon working on this set for a friend who saw my bracelets and really wanted a necklace. I decided the necklace was
pretty but needed a bracelet and earrings to go with it too. I hope she'll like it. It looks even prettier IRL and the blues, greens and pinks are really gorgeous together and change in every light.
So...if anyone has a need for a necklace let me know because this wasn't as hard to make as I thought: )

Unnecessary CoPay

Where do I even start? My dear, sweet Megan has a fetish with her nose. Yes, her nose. She loves to put things in it. Get where I am going now? At lunch yesterday I was putting dishes in the dishwasher while she finished up lunch and I heard an all too familiar sound, turned around and she had her finger up her nose and and fist full of corn in the other hand. All I could say was, "not again Megan". But yes, she had. I could see a piece of corn lodge in her nose and I tried everything to get it out. Now remember this is not the first time she has done this and I am really getting good at getting Nerds, toys, peas and other types of things out of her nose but this piece of corn was STUCK! So I called the Doctors office and the nurse informed me that this wasn't "an emergency" and I needed to wait and see if it fell out, call them back in an hour and then they would get her in. Annoyed I waited and long story short we ended up at the doctor's. Now, remember the movie One Fine Day with George Clooney and the boy who shoves things up his nose and they use an alligator thing-y? Yep? Well they is what they used on Miss Megan but that little boy was an actor and my Megan is a screaming toddler and it took 2 of us to hold her down and the most surprising thing of all was that there wasn't just one piece of corn in her nose but two!! Oh Megan.

She is fine today and playing like a normal little 20 month old but I am still scarred and mentally exhausted!! Do you think she learned?: )

An Olympic Event

I am thinking of writing the Olympic Committee and proposing a new Olympic event... the getting your preschooler out the door and to preschool on time event. Time trials started this morning. We made it, barely.
