To everything there is a season...and I am juggling a new season of part-time working mom and wife. Read along and see how I make it all work.

The age thing
I've always been okay with the age thing. For me, it's really never been more than a number, but lately there are certain things that are starting to remind me that I have passed 30 and I'm not the Spring chicken I used to be. Things like: the girl I used to baby sit all the time(for more than 5+ years) getting married in December, Mitch telling me he will be 7 in 11 months(that made me do a double take), one of my youngest cousins graduating from high school this coming May. All little reminders that time doesn't stand still and that soon I will celebrate my 32nd year and even though I still may feel 25 everyone else around me is moving, growing and changing. These little reminders also make me want to take care of myself, eat well, exercise, and take care of my skin. I saw a friend of mine Friday morning and she is 7 years older than me and I couldn't believe the lines on her face. When I got home I went upstairs and looked at my face to see if I was starting to age like that. Luckily, I was in the clear, but like I said, time isn't standing still so I have been a little better with the eye cream in the last few days because, seriously!! The good thing about 32 compared to 25 is that I feel like I am much more comfortable with who I am. I like myself as a whole person and feel much more secure. I am at peace with the fact that this is the body that God gave me so I better take care of it, love it and cherish what came from it. I still believe age is just a number and this even number that is coming up in a few days is looking pretty darn good.

Catching up
Whoa...I haven't posted anything in a while! I've been so busy, and then both kids got sick and the end of last week that spending time on the computer was the last thing on my list of priorities. Both Mitch and Megan are better now, but I will sure be glad to see some warmer spring like weather get here. Poor little Megan has had her share of colds this season and when the weather is cold like this it really affects Mitch's asthma and then I spend all day worrying about him at school, and a lot of good that does me!
Even though they both were sick at the end of last week we had a ton of fun at the beginning of the week when we went to the Stock Show and then Mitch had Tuesday off also and I took them to Toys R Us and they coined me "cool mom" for the day! The Stock Show was tons of fun this year and them being 6 and 3 1/2 had a lot to do with it. Megan loved everything about it and since she goes to preschool on a farm and wears cowgirl boots everyday she fit right in, okay maybe not if you look real closely at the pictures, but you know what I mean. Both kids loved seeing all the animals up close, dreaming about owning their own rabbit and got the biggest kick out of the horse taking a shower with a goat! It really was a great time this year, and we're all dying to go back next year!

I've been bad about posting pics so these are some from Megan's big gymnastics show and our trip to the

Insomnia
I need to be honest, I haven't been sleeping well, and I don't think I have had a good night sleep in close to a month. Most nights I am awake between 2am-3am or 3am-4am. It's never more than an hour and it's just enough to drive you crazy and make the next day hazy and a 2 cup of coffee day. I can't figure out why this is happening. I am wondering if I am worrying about Mitch and his asthma, just worrying in general or if it is hormones (post hysterectomy). Whatever it is I am SO over it and more than ready for a good nights sleep. If anyone has any cures or helpful hints for periodic insomnia (that's the medical term I found online) please let me know. For now, I will keep tossing and turning, wandering the house, and praying.

Taking stock
I saw a really good friend of mine last night and I was telling her how much the holidays always drain me and how January is so hard and how much the cold weather this week was really getting me down yada yada yada... She just looked at me and said "well, what are are you doing to be nice to yourself?". She is so brutally honest and knows my heart so well. So today, after dropping Megan off at preschool I decided that rather than come home and clean house I would just take a break and sit and watch a little TV and eat one of my very favorite foods. It was very wonderful and very much needed! We all needs friends like that, ones who won't beat around the bush, and make sure that you are taking care of you so you can take care of others too.

Happy sick New Year
Poor little Megan rang in (and still is) 2010 with a nasty, weird flu virus. The poor thing has been sick since New Year's Eve and just isn't her rockin' little self. I knew something was off when she actually asked to take a nap today and did! WOW! It made for a nice quiet hour for me but I sure feel bad for her. Mitch goes back to school tomorrow so, hopefully we can have a quiet day at home playing Barbies or whatever makes her day. Hope everyone else had a great New Year's so far!
