Thirty Three

I turned 33 today...the high was maybe 11 and it we got even more snow than last week. I thought for sure, and was hoping for a snow day, but not this week. Instead, my day was filled with wonderful MOPS friends, lunch with Megan and my aunt's , fabulous Mexican food at our favorite restaurant with Frank and the kids, turtle brownies and presents. The kids have been dying to give me their gifts for days so it was very fun tonight to have them "help" me with my gifts. They got me a beautiful sterling silver charm bracelet with 3 charms. Precious. Megan already had it all figured out so I will have to watch it very carefully!
So, now I am looking forward to my 33rd year. 32 was pretty darn great, though. As Frank told me tonight, "you look great babe, just keep kickin' it old school!". My husband is kind of a goof, but so am I! To many more candles on my cake(or brownie).

Love/Hate relationship

I have a real love/hate relationship with working out.  I love how working out makes me feel and look, but I hate getting out of bed to do it.  When the kids are in school I usually get up to workout at 5:15 or 5:30am. Oye! This week with the snow days and days off I quickly slipped back into a 6:30am routine and it was so nice!  This week I loved working out but next week I will be back to hating it and loving it at the same time.  This summer we are going to Disneyland and the beach so that is motivation enough on the mornings that 5:15am rolls around.
Some of the workouts I like(I workout at home from DVDs or OnDemand)
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Level 1 and 2
Chris Freytag 10 lb Slimdown
Esmonde
Any good pilates workout that is longer than 25 minutes and works my core, glutes and legs

Really I am not picky, but I usually change it up every 3 weeks.  Currently, I am doing cardio one day and yoga the next.  That will last until I get bored and then I will change it up because I gotta love it so I don't hate it.

Cold Day: Part 2

The kids were off of school again today due to extremely cold temperatures...brrrr!  I think we maybe got to 6 on our back porch(Mitch kept checking).  So today I had to be really creative.  All before lunch we had made a puppet theatre, sock puppets, a tent under a card table, watched half of Shrek, and read 4 books.  By the time lunch rolled around I was exhausted and forgot how much work it was to entertain cooped up kids.  It was a super long day, I won't lie, and I am looking forward to tomorrow when they say the high will be 32.  Oh, I should mention, Mitch has school off tomorrow and Friday for teacher in-service so he only had one day of school this week, lucky kid!

Freezing, cold snow day

The kids don't have school today because of extremely cold temperatures.  I think our back porch is reading somewhere around 1 degree.  Brrrr!  Even Cora, our rottweiler, is refusing to go outside.  Now that's cold when the 85 pound rottie won't go out.  So, we're inside watching a little TV, playing Wii, reading books and playing restaurant.  We also found a cool new website and I had to share http://www.kerpoof.com/  Mitch had a great time creating pictures of aliens on a cool new universe.  It's great for the over Kindergarten set but Megan had a little trouble with it.  Megan's favorite site is still http://www.pbskids.org/.  Really, my kids haven't been plugged in all day, but when the temps dip this low I was running out of creative activities and they were starting to strangle each other by lunchtime.  Maybe after dinner we will break out a game of Twister!
