A Royal morning

Megan and I watched the Royal Wedding this morning. She and I have been waiting for months for this, and she was very excited to see "Princess Kate". We even rolled back some of our favorite parts and watched the beginning again tonight when all of the "pretty ladies" arrived so we could see their fancy hats and dresses. This was a history making day, as well as a memory with Megan that I will never forget.

Some comments from my little fashionista...aka Megan
"Prince William looks like a Nutcracker doll"
"Why is the Queen wearing yellow? I think she should have worn pink."
"We should wear hats to church."
"Princess Kate looks beautiful, Mommy!"
"When I marry C____ we are going to drive away in a carriage from MOPS!"

Megan and I painted two birdhouses today for our little finch families that we have in our yard.

Megan loves to be crafty!

A day at the Circus

Together with my parents we took the kids to see the El Jebel Shrine Circus.

This year the kids got their faces painted, very circus-like!

Bittersweet

My MOPS group met this morning. We are nearing the end of the year, and my time as a MOPS mom is ending. I serve on Leadership so on the Tuesdays we have MOPS my mornings are jammed packed, busy, full, exciting, fun, and also really exhausting. As I look forward to the two meetings we have left I am thankful and also kind of sad. I have been in MOPS for four, almost five, years. I started going just after Megan was born. At the time I started I was just looking for something to do one morning a week. I had a busy 2 1/2 year old and an infant. I joined a group and it was okay, but a year later I found the group I currently attend and met some women that are so very dear to me. From MOPS I have gained some of the most wonderful girlfriends, and also found a deeper understanding of myself as a mom and my faith. Who knew that a mom's group on a Tuesday morning could impact my life so much. As I get ready to move forward and start a new season I will always cherish the years in MOPS; the laughs, the laughs that lead to snorting, the tears, and my wonderful girlfriends. Never say goodbye, always say, "see you soon". www.fccmops.worpress.com www.mops.org

Cub Mobile Races

Mitch's scout troop had their cub mobile races over the weekend. It was a really fun event and we had a great weekend(weather) for it. Mitch got the hang of driving the car very quickly and had some great races. Frank played "catcher" at the bottom of the hill with a few of the other dads and my job was "shagger" and I helped some of the boys pull the car back to the starting line.

Megan's new do

Megan and I got our haircut today. To go with her sassy attitude, Megan got 2 inches cut off into a cute little bob. It's really cute on her and fits her face and personality just perfectly.

Our Spring Break in pictures

On Sunday we started our week off with a day trip to Evergreen Lake. The kids loved walking around the lake and boat house and met 2 new friends while we were there.
Here are their new friends Wheezer and Honker.
Mitch took this lovely picture of Frank and me.
On Tuesday we went to Build a Bear and Megan brought home her new friend Princess Flower Bear.

Here she is giving her a bath.
On Friday we had a craving for a sweet treat so we made our way into Olde Town and enjoy some ice cream(Daddy had cheesecake) at Cheesecake Therapy.

They have the best treats! Go Rockies!

On Saturday we rounded out the week by taking Megan to Disney on Ice: Princesses on Ice. She had a fabulous time and Mitch spent the day playing Legos with Grandma and Grandpa.

Our 2011 Spring Break was pretty great. The kids shared some pretty nasty colds between the two of them, but we made the best of it and they were real troopers. Megan starts back to preschool tomorrow and Mitch goes back on Tuesday. No more sleeping in for us(darn it)! The alarms will be going off around 6am-ish.
