The Wedding

The Flower Girl

The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and Aunt Kathie look so happy and in love, and Lewie is just a sweetie of a guy. We all are so happy for them.

Wedding Rehearsal

Friday night we had the wedding rehearsal for Frank's Aunt Kathie's wedding. She married a real sweetie of a man, Lewie. This arch is where it all took place and is the entrance to the barn where there was some serious barn dancing on Saturday.

Mission Accomplished

Mitch has been attending Lincoln Academy for almost 2 years and today I finally tried picking him up in the drive thru lane. We mastered the morning drop-off last Fall, but I had yet to try the pick-up. Finally, today, we went for it. I think I was more worried about it than him and all went well except the weather. We were working on this so that when the weather is bad I can just drive through and pick him up rather than have to drag Megan through the rain and all the way into the school gym.

One more thing I can scratch off my to-do list for the school year, and only 5 more days left.

Final Countdown

We are into the final countdown to the end of the school year, and the kids are soooo ready. There have been some major meltdowns in the last few days, lots of grouching about homework, dragging of feet in the morning to get ready and just a general feeling of "when is summer break?". I would have to say that I am ready too and tomorrow it will be 8 more days for Mitch and 3 school days for Megan. I just can't believe that next year they will be in the same school and I will have a second grader and a kindergartner. Time flies, unless you are in first grade waiting for summer break!

Field Day Follies

Field Day was Friday, and Mitch had a great time participating in all of the events. His school puts on a really great Field Day with all of the traditional races, as well as a bouncy obstacle course and a dunk tank(more about the dunk tank later). Mitch said his favorite events were all of the races and the cup stacking.

Later in the day was when he ran into a little trouble with the dunk tank. At lunch recess he got hit by a stray ball being thrown at the dunk tank and spent some time in the clinic, and later I picked him up early from school. He was upset because he missed the firetruck from Station 4 which comes to the school every year on Field day, but I think he got over it. It was a pretty good day; it's just too bad it had to end with an injury this year.

My last MOPS

Yesterday was my last MOPS meeting. It was much more of an emotional morning than I had anticipated. I had a hard time sleeping the night before and was worried about an item I had lost that I needed for the meeting. When I was in the shower and getting ready I realized I really wasn't worried about the lost item, I was upset that this truly was my last MOPS meeting.

The morning went well and our Leadership team honored the four women who were "graduating" from MOPS, myself included. I think what touched me the most was the women from our team who graciously stepped forward and spoke about how each of us graduating moms had touch them some way, or been a huge part of their lives since joining MOPS. It was really quite humbling and brought us all to tears.

The purpose of MOPS is really for preschool moms, and I know God has amazing things ahead for me, but I will miss my Tuesdays with those girls. I have made some incredible friendships in the last four years, and while the journey hasn't been without bumps and bruises I wouldn't have wanted to walk those last four years without any of those girls along side me. I am praying for new doors and ministries to open up to me, and I am really looking forward to spending time in the kids' classrooms in the Fall. Yesterday wasn't goodbye to all of the friends I have made, it was just, "see you again soon!".

Love, to all of my FCC MOPS girls!
